Aim: To validate and scale circular food systems transformation through decentralized biochar feedstock testbeds in rural youth communities The concept would be to: Implement containerized biochar production units located in selected rural university communities - providing technical training while converting agricultural residues abundantly available in these areas into optimized soil enhancing biochar. Through an equity partnership model with groups of 5-10 students per site, provide hands-on entrepreneurship experience on operating micro biochar facilities - quantifying and marketing the impact. Start trails on student-run farms as well as partner with surrounding smallholder communities to demonstrate the profitability and regeneration outcomes of applying tailored biochar. Offer innovation funding access upon meeting milestones to enable youth facility managers to reach next scale of throughput capacity and expand trials to additional villages. Develop integrated sustainability curriculum integrating crop planning, biochar optimization, digitized soil monitoring, carbon credit validation which can be propagated through university networks. This establishes decentralized biochar production testbeds embedded in rural areas while catalyzing wider adoption - empowering youth to lead the knowledge transfer and business models for regional food system transformation.
